Grab and Go Lunches (FYI re: a change)

March 27, 2020

Breakfast/Lunch Distribution

The CHARIHO Regional School District will continue to offer free “grab and go” breakfast and lunch to any child, 18 and under, on Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.  Parents/Guardians can pick up meals at the front entrance of CHARIHO Regional High School, 453 Switch Road, Wood River Junction.  Chartwells staff will be available to pass out the packaged breakfast and lunch to each student.

In addition, CHARIHO will now allow parents/guardians to pick up meals for their children provided they tell us the names of their children.  CHARIHO will create a list and check them off daily.  We have been providing meals for 2 weeks now and seeing the same parents and children coming through to get meals.  If an adult unknown to staff or the children they are picking up meals for do not attend a CHARIHO school, we will give food the first day, but request the adult bring the children the next time to insure the meals are being appropriately dispensed.

Virtual School Day Hours:
 3/24/20 through 4/3/20 > 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Attendance Information:
On all Virtual School Days, please click on this link to complete a short Attendance Google Form regarding your child’s participation in Virtual Learning (see link below). This link will also be posted on our website.  If you have multiple students who attend one elementary school, please complete the form separately for each student.  If this form is not completed daily, a staff member will call you regarding your child’s participation and to offer support and check-in with you.

Classroom teachers will provide parents with written directions for each day of learning before 9 am.  This will include clear notification and directions for any online learning. Students who receive extra support via an IEP or RtI plan will be provided with support that aligns with their individual plans.

Teachers will be available to assist parents/students via email, Class Dojo, Seesaw, and/or Google Classroom during the following timeframes:  9:00 am - 3:00 pm daily (with a break for lunch from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm). The communication format to be determined by each teacher.

No major assessments will be administered during this time period.

Student Expectations:

  • Complete all assignments from each daily learning plan.
  • Share their learning questions with their parent/guardian.
  • Return assignments when picking up new material.

Please share my latest Twitter post with your child.  Have a nice weekend.
Sincerely,
Sharon Martin, Principal
